Captain’s Autumn Log 30/10/17

It’s the end of October, they say! Winter’s here, they say! Must be time to shut up for the year, they say!! We at Mezzo Magic see things slightly differently. It’s 23 degrees out there, the sun is shining brightly, the skies are blue and the water still warm! Is this not the most perfect time of the year to get out on the sea? When our friends and family are back in Blighty, moaning about the cold and the wet, wishing they were over here, look at what we have just waiting on our doorstep!! As if you need any more reason, we will give you one……….we are now offering a massive 30% off all our private charters!! So what is stopping you?

Maybe you would like to say “Thank You” to your staff, who have worked hard all season and have hopefully helped in making this year a great one for you. What better way than all of you sharing a relaxing day on the water with us and some well deserved chilled drinks! We will make it a day to remember.

We have more, very exciting news which we are dying to tell you all about, but not quite yet!! We don’t want to let the cat out of the bag before time. We can give you a couple clues, however. She is something very dear to all our hearts here at Mezzo Magic, especially Chris, and is testimony to the fact that bigger is not always better!!! Do not miss the next blog, when we shall be revealing all!!

We’re all still here, ready and waiting, so give us a call, send us an e mail or come in and say Hi. Let’s make the most of this beautiful time of the year! Thank you!

Mezzo Magic, Logging off!

Captain’s Log, 26th July 2017

So here we are, coming towards the end of July already. We cannot believe how quickly this year is going. It is scary, but I suppose, when you are having fun, and all that……………!!

When I  say, here we are, there are a couple of team members who have decided it would be a great time of the year to have a little cruise around the Balearic islands for a week!! Yes, you guessed it, Chris and his little Olive Oil, Abbie, are soaking up the sun aboard our 53 foot Sunseeker Manhattan, island hopping from Mallorca to Ibiza to Menorca and Fomentera, with a couple of extremely pleasant clients. When Chris can spare the time to speak to me, between dining in the best the islands have to offer and cooling off in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, he tells me he working extremely hard! I’ll take your word on that one, Chris……………millions wouldn’t!

Back in the world of vague normality, we are all delighted to say that it is non stop, as ever during these months. Thanks to all of you, we are well up on the amount of charters we have carried out this year, compared to last year and there seems no sign of let up in the foreseeable future. As you have realised, our Sunseeker, Perfection, is up and running and we are taking bookings now. Our luxury 50 foot Hanse, Vesper, is taking a little longer that we expected, but we see light at the end of the tunnel now and think we are within sight of the finishing line! Watch this space!!

In other news, our little 6 metre R.I.B speed boat has really started to take off, with Dan at the wheel, and we are getting great feedback from all age groups. It is a great way to get close and personal with the cliffs, caves and coves and also to have a bit of a blast about on the water toys.

We have got some interesting charters to look forward to, including organising a wedding party of around 80 guests, which will keep us on our toes!

As always we continue to be enormously grateful to all of you for your continued support and very much look forward to seeing more friendly faces as well as a whole load of new ones.

We wish you all an extremely happy and enjoyable summer!

We made it into Forbes

“Five Reasons To Visit Deia, Mallorca” written by Joanne Shurvell @ Forbes

I’m a London-based writer covering travel, food and culture. Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.

Set up by two Brits, father and son Mark and Chris Adamson, Mezzo Magic has two sailboats offering boat trips around the north west coast of Mallorca. Chris and his colleague Al skippered the Pequod, a 50-foot yacht for a sunset cruise. We set sail from Port de Soller, a chic seaside town near Deia, another location for The Night Manager (the scene where Pine takes Roper’s son Danny for a stroll and buys him an ice cream).

A nice read about a day with Mezzo Sailing

Beachwood Boys Club wrote a lovely article about chartering a yacht with us on August  21st, 2015

This has to be the best way to see the island.  What a fabulous experience –  diving off the back of a 50 foot yacht, into the crystal clear blue waters of the Mediterranean.  Having got used to the Pacific Ocean, the warmth of the water, as well as its clarity, almost defies belief.  The boys loved jumping off the back and splashing about.  Of course Skyer was the first to venture in.  Fearless as always.

Mezzo’s double page spread in the Daily Bulletin

This is an article written by Samantha Burke from the Daily Bulletin, and made the front and center pages

Looking out over the Port Soller harbor it’s not hard to fathom a reason why Chris Adamson has settled for this lifestyle here. Pequod, his Bavaria 50 bobs calmly on the bay in front of us, the sun highlighting surrounding ripples and passers by staring out… in envy, who knows? You would think, but regardless, he seems pretty satisfied with his lot.

Sitting down with the Bulletin, Yacht Captain, Chris explains how he landed his dream job on the Island and where it all began, although first things first a few “Hey! How are you” nods, handshakes and back patting scenarios ensue in quick succession from locals who know the young captain and who are also seemingly very keen for a quick chin wag.
