28th August, 2018 Captain’s Log……………August Mania!!

28th August 2018

Well, we all know it gets hot here in August, and this year has certainly been no exception!! With temperatures hitting 38° C in the shade, we have been kept very busy cooling off our clients in the crystal clear, cool waters of this Northwest coast!!

It appears that the new additions to the fleet this year were a wise idea! Our Monterey 32 SS has barely had a chance to catch breath (let alone the seemingly unbreakable skipper, Jon) since it’s, rather delayed, first charter on the 24th of July. To be completely honest, why were we at all surprised by this? 32 feet of pure luxury and indulgence! Swathed in white leather upholstery, from sumptuous chairs and sofas to luxurious sun loungers and cushioned sun decks, surely this has got to be one of the finest settings from where to admire our stunning coast. With fridges stocked with fine wines, cavas, beers, refreshing soft drinks and tasty snacks, it is difficult to see how we manage to prise our clients off the boat at the end of their charters!! We have, however, got one way to get them off the boat during their trip………………..a fling around the ocean in its new doughnut!!

Our smaller 23 foot Cayman R.I.B speed boat has enjoyed an equally successful summer. Again, we shouldn’t have expected anything else, from the start. Now being the only yacht charter company on the entire Northwest coast of the island to be able to offer a full water sports package, it is really no surprise that kids and “grown ups” (larger kids) are queuing up to get themselves onto this stunning 250 hp vessel.

On a more personal level, we have more great news! Chris and Lisa finally tied the knot, choosing July the 28th as the most appropriate day to do so, not that we had much going on at the very busiest time of the year!! Their chosen location for the ceremony and ensuing celebratory dinner and dancing (a term I use very loosely!) was Son Marroig, right on the coast, just above Sa Foradada. We were all treated to a magical and unforgettable evening, including a sumptuous 3 course dinner, catered for by the Michelin star chef, Marc Fosh, with the most spectacular sunset over the Med as our background! As the last bus left the venue at 4.30am (with me on it), it really was a night that none of us will forget, although I would like to forget the next morning, opening the office at 8am!!

More amazing news comes in the form of a little baby girl! One of our R.I.B skippers, Al, and his beautiful wife, Gisela, welcomed the tiny bundle of Joy into the world on Friday the 10th of August. Welcome to the Mezzo Magic team, little Rafaella! Good Luck!!!

So, we hope you all continue to enjoy the sun on this, our little piece of paradise and maybe we will be lucky enough to welcome some of you on board in the near future.

For now, this is the Captain, Logging Off!!
